I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) in 2003 soon after I finished my professional football career and I was given just three months to live. Thanks to Cure Leukaemia co-founder Professor Charlie Craddock CBE, a bone marrow transplant from my sister and the phenomenal clinical team Cure Leukaemia supports at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, I was able to win my battle with this disease in 2005.
I have dedicated my life to raising funds to fight blood cancer ever since and on September 9th myself, Doug McKinnon, James Maltin and Hayden Groves completed the toughest challenge amateur cyclists can take on. This year we rode the Giro D’Italia, Tour de France and the Vuelta consecutively, something only 39 professionals have ever taken on.
This challenge simply would not have happened without the sponsorship of Farr Vintners, through Steve Browett, Crystal Palace Football Club through Steve Parish and the Palace For Life Foundation. The Crystal Palace family has been a rock for me ever since I was diagnosed and this tremendous football club continues to help me find that extra energy to complete these challenges.
To raise further funds towards the challenge and for the Cure Leukaemia we are producing a special shirt which will feature your names in the design. It costs £20 to ‘Donate Your Name’ and it can be done in minutes by filling in the form below. The shirt is limited to 1000 names so don’t delay and of course, those who donate will receive a shirt as well. Everything is explained in the T’s & C’s which can be read HERE.
Thank you all so much,
Please ensure that there are no gaps or symbols in between the expiry date numbers.
It is £20 to 'Donate Your Name' and 100% of the donation will go to Cure Leukaemia. (UK tax payers are encouraged to claim gift aid on their donation to ensure the charity receives an additional 25%). Each person who donates will receive their very own commemorative shirt.
If your donation has been successful you will be taken to a confirmation page and an email will be sent to your preferred address. If you have any issues making your donation please call 0121 236 9202 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
